Match Preview

The Scottish national team will serve the Croatian national team in the crucial matchday three of Group D Euro 2020 at Hampden Park, Glasgow, Wednesday (23/6/2021) midnight IST. Both teams must win to extend their breath in this prestigious tournament.

The Croatian and Scottish national teams both lost to score in the first match. After that, they each won one point in the second game. Croatia grabbed a point thanks to a goal from Ivan Perisic against the Czech Republic, while Scotland, inspired by young midfielder Billy Gilmour, held England 0-0 at Wembley.

Group D is currently led by the Czech Republic with four points (+2 goal difference). England is in second place too with four points (+1 goal difference). Below that, with one point each, are Croatia (-1 goal difference) and Scotland (-2 goal difference).

Croatia must win over Scotland if they want to have a chance to be one of the best three. If Croatia wins, and Ceska loses against England, then Luka Modric and his friends can finish in second place, but depending on the goal difference.

Meanwhile, Scotland must beat Croatia to finish in third place. If Scotland wins and England loses to the Czech, then Scotland could even finish second, but that also depends on their goal difference.

Croatia is winless in five meetings with Scotland so far, losing twice (W0 D3 L2). The two defeats were all experienced by the Croatian national team in the last two clashes, namely in the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers; lost 0-1 at Zagreb and 0-2 at Hampden Park.

What is the final result of their duel at Hampden Park this time?
