Match Preview

The Swedish national team will face the Polish national team on matchday  3 of Group E Euro 2020, Wednesday (23/6/2021). The match at Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg is very important, especially for Poland.

Sweden currently leads the Euro 2020 Group E standings with 4 points and a +1 goal difference. Below that, there are Slovakia (3 points; 0 goal difference), Spain (2 points; 0 goal difference), and Poland (1 point; -1 goal difference).

Sweden is definitely through. Even if they lose, Sweden will finish in third place and will certainly be one of the four best third-placed teams to qualify for the next round.

If they win, Sweden will finish as a group of winners. If Sweden loses, and Slovakia vs Spain ends in a draw, with Sweden, Slovakia, and Poland all finishing with 4 points, then the final position will be decided based on the results between the three teams.

For Poland, the only choice is to win. Robert Lewandowski and his friends will qualify for the last 16 of Euro 2020 if they win. In a situation like this, they are certainly ready to fight with all their might to beat Sweden.
